Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 25, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Meterra Systems Inc. (“Meterra,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you visit meterrasystems.com (the “Site”) or contact us about our remote water-monitoring products and services. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described here.
Information we collect
Information you give us
When you fill out a form on the Site — such as our “Request pricing,” contact, or savings-calculator request forms — we collect the details you provide. This typically includes your name, email address, phone number, your state or general location, and information about your property or operation (for example, the water points you want to monitor). You choose what to share; the contact details are needed for us to respond.
Information collected automatically
When you visit the Site, we and our analytics provider automatically collect standard technical and usage data, such as your IP address, device and browser type, the pages you view, and the site or ad that referred you. We use Google Analytics 4 for this, and Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors interact with pages (session replays and heatmaps; form entries such as your email are masked by default).
We also capture marketing-attribution information so we can understand which
of our marketing efforts work. This includes campaign tags (UTM parameters), advertising click
identifiers (for example, Google’s gclid or other ad-platform click IDs), the page
you arrived on, and the site that referred you. This information is stored in your browser’s
local storage and a first-party cookie during your visit and is attached to a form if you
choose to submit one. It does not include your name unless you provide it in a form.
How we use your information
- To respond to your inquiries and provide pricing, quotes, and product information.
- To follow up about products or services you asked about, including demo and trial requests.
- To operate, maintain, and improve the Site and our offerings.
- To measure and improve our marketing and understand which channels bring people to us.
- To keep records and comply with legal obligations.
Cookies and analytics
The Site uses cookies and similar technologies, including those set by Google Analytics, to understand how the Site is used. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics using Google’s opt-out browser add-on. For more on how Google uses data, see Google’s Privacy Policy.
We also use advertising tags from the platforms where we advertise — such as Google Ads, Reddit, and X (Twitter) — to measure whether our ads lead to inquiries and to show our ads to people who have visited the Site (sometimes called remarketing). These platforms may set their own cookies or identifiers when you visit. You can limit this through your browser’s cookie settings and through each platform’s own ad-preference controls (for example, Google Ads Settings or your Reddit account’s privacy settings).
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to run our business:
- Service providers who help us operate the Site and our forms — for example, our website host and form processor (Netlify) and our analytics provider (Google).
- Legal and safety reasons — if required by law, or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred.
Data retention
We keep the information you submit for as long as needed to respond to you and for our ordinary business records, unless you ask us to delete it. Analytics data is retained according to our provider’s settings.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information you’ve given us, and you can opt out of analytics as described above. To make a request, contact us using the details below.
[Note for Meterra: depending on where your customers live, you may have obligations under state privacy laws (for example, California’s CCPA/CPRA). If you market to or collect data from residents of those states, have counsel confirm whether additional disclosures or rights (e.g., “Do Not Sell or Share”) are required here.]
Children’s privacy
The Site is intended for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We use reasonable measures to protect the information we collect. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Third-party links
The Site may link to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices, and we encourage you to review their policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll revise the “Last updated” date above. Significant changes may be highlighted on the Site.
