Every property is different. These are the answers that apply to most Meterra monitoring setups.
01Do the sensors need Wi-Fi?+
No. Standard Meterra sensors use built-in cellular connectivity, so they do not need a Wi-Fi network or a hub at the tank — we confirm cellular coverage for your location before recommending a setup. If a site does have dependable Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi models are available too: they cost a little more up front, but they don’t need a connectivity plan.
02Can I start with one sensor?+
Yes. Many operations begin with the most remote or troublesome water point and add more devices over time. New sensors can be organized in the same dashboard.
03How often will I get a reading?+
Most monitoring setups report at regular intervals, commonly hourly, while critical alerts are sent when a configured condition is detected. Reporting frequency can vary by device and setup.
04What information is saved?+
The dashboard can show current readings and historical records such as tank level, estimated volume, signal strength, and battery voltage. Available fields depend on the sensor.
05Can more than one person use the dashboard?+
Yes. Multiple-user access lets owners, managers, employees, or advisors view the devices relevant to their work.
06How difficult is installation?+
Most level sensors install with basic tools and do not require trenching, wiring, or an electrician. We help confirm the mounting location and setup before installation.
