Rainfall totals from every property — without driving to check a tube.
A rugged tipping-bucket rain gauge that logs every 0.008 inches of rain and sends totals and alerts to your phone — so you know exactly what fell on each place, not what fell at the house.
60-day money-back guarantee and a one-year warranty on every sensor.
Rainfall is the most local number in agriculture — two inches at the house can be a quarter inch at the far place. A gauge that reports from each property replaces guesswork with the actual number, logged hourly and kept as history you can look back on.
On the Meterra dashboard, rain sits next to your water levels — so you see the cause and the effect together: what fell, what ran into the pond, and what it means for the week’s plan.
The reading can also act. Through water system automation, measured rainfall can hold irrigation valves or a pump automatically — you stop watering in the rain, and where watering is restricted after rainfall, the rule keeps you compliant without anyone checking a gauge.
Reads what actually fell — where it fell
Rain is local. A gauge on each property replaces "it looked like a good storm" with the real number, logged hourly and kept as history.
Filtered against the usual failures
A built-in insect and leaf filter screen keeps debris from blocking the tipping mechanism — the thing that quietly ruins most unattended gauges.
Built for remote sites
Sealed ABS housing (IP65 rated against dust and hose-down), heavy-duty mounting bracket, and a battery that runs 2+ years without attention.
Mount it in the open
Pole- or post-mount the gauge with the included bracket, clear of trees and rooflines.
It logs every tip
Tipping-bucket pulses record each 0.008 in of rain; totals report over cellular every hour.
See rain next to water
Rainfall joins tank, trough, and pond levels on the same dashboard — what fell, and what it did to your storage.
Watch them work together
When it rains, the sprinklers already know.
The rain gauge measures what actually fell — and because it shares a platform with the valve controller, that measurement can hold your irrigation. You stop paying to water in the rain, and where watering is restricted after rainfall, the rule follows the reading. Sped up:
Sped-up example — you set the rainfall threshold and the schedule in the Meterra app. The 0.008 in tipping-bucket resolution means the rule acts on real measured rain at your site, not a forecast.

How do I get US pricing?
US pricing for the rain gauge is being finalized as part of our rollout. Use the request form or call and we'll reply within one business day with current pricing and availability.
Why not just use a manual gauge?
A manual gauge tells you what fell if you drive there before it evaporates. This one logs every event with a timestamp, keeps season history per site, and alerts you when rain is detected — useful when properties are scattered and decisions (turnout, spraying, hauling) depend on what each one actually got.
How much maintenance does it need?
Very little by design — the filter screen keeps insects and leaves out of the mechanism, the housing is sealed, and the battery runs multiple seasons. An occasional visual check when you're passing is plenty.
